I enjoyed a lovely stay here and took pleasure in the nearby St Michael The Archangel Church, just a few steps away, as well as a visit to The Big Cat Sanctuary, which was less than 3 km from my hotel. it made for perfect weekend strolls to explore the local charm and wildlife attractions, and the garden at the back overlooking the pond provided a peaceful retreat after my adventures.

We loved the charming old-style room with character and the delightful Sunday roast dinner we enjoyed. The relaxing garden at the back was a perfect spot for a peaceful afternoon, and there were plenty of cozy nooks to unwind in. The only downside was a bit of a delay on service during the busy hours, but it didn't spoil our experience at all! 😊

Oh mate, the handmade pasta blew my socks off! We feasted like kings, and the evening stroll around picturesque Smarden just topped it all. The lovely garden vibes added to the charm, making for a perfect spot to sip cider and unwind.
There were a few hiccups. The room we had felt like a shoe box, and the owners seemed a bit over it. We got hit with a dodgy toilet and limited breakfast, which put a dampener on our stay.

Amidst the chilly Kent winter, we found a welcoming refuge. The cozy pub vibe instantly made us feel at home, complemented by a delightful dinner, the chicken shone as the highlight. For future guests, the local kitty is a charm! Just be aware of potential menu hits and misses.
